The Audi e-Tron GT is an Audi four-door electric-powered coupé, as part of 20 new Audi electric models in 2025.
Given that the e-Tron GT will get technology, design features, cabin specifications, and possibly drivetrain hardware from other e-Tron vehicles, there are many details that Audi has just revealed. Marketed against emerging segments such as the Tesla Model S and similar entries from other manufacturers, the Audi e-Tron GT can be more impressive than the recently introduced e-Tron Quattro SUV.
Audi E-Tron exterior
Audi doesn’t give a lot of sketches or rendering on their latest product lines. But after being introduced, the exterior of the Audi e-Tron GT is arguably inspired by the Quattro e-Tron SUV. The lightweight body of the four-door coupé is manufactured using a multi-material construction. There is a carbon roof and character design that is packed with Audi DNA.
Affirming the front-end display of the other Audi product lines, the arrow-shaped front on the front exterior of the Audi e-Tron GT emphasizes the LED headlight matrix with high laser light. The front display combines the e-Tron GT with the e-Tron SUV, making them both instantly recognizable even if seen in the dark.
Almost as the e-Tron which was introduced earlier in the year, the side gets an attractive appearance. The design of the rim with five twin radii is parallel to their function. The dynamic design provides optimal ventilation of the brake disk while reducing drag. Combined with 285/30 tires, 22-inch alloy wheels show an elegant design on the exterior side of the Audi e-Tron GT.
Wide lines with various functional body elements along with air vents from the wheel arches and diffuser on the rear exterior of the Audi e-Tron GT will emphasize the low coefficient of resistance. Reducing fuel consumption and visually low lift confirms the design characteristics of Audi.
Interior of the Audi E-Tron
The Audi four-door coupé comes with four seats with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, providing a large space for everyday use. While the interior of the Audi e-Tron GT introduces a ‘vegan’ design, it is emphasized that some coatings use recycled materials from synthetic leather and microfiber materials, to carpets made from processed fishnets.
The interior functional center is located on the left screen, emphasizing how Audi focuses everything on the driver. On the Audi e-Tron GT dashboard, the center console and large touch screen at the top frame the driver’s workplace, ergonomically combining the driver with the control and infotainment of the e-Tron GT.
Synthetic leather wraps the steering wheel of the Audi e-Tron GT with all infotainment systems and car-focused driver information. The steering wheel also gets a variety of settings buttons, as well as cluster management that presents various information about your ride.
Audi e-Tron GT seats wrapped in synthetic leather get a sporty design inspired by the design of Audi race cars. It provides optimal lateral support, even when cornering at high-speed. Fabrics made from recycled fibers are used on the pads and armrests and center console, providing comfort while driving.
By two Audi e-Tron GT luggage compartments, the e-Tron GT concept offers many choices for Gran Turismo. Audi makes full use of the concept’s advantages as an electric car with a unique compact drive. The back offers a luggage capacity of up to 450 liters, with an additional extra capacity of 100 liters.
Audi E-Tron features
As an Audi electric vehicle, the Audi e-Tron GT features no doubt. It is full of all the latest Audi technology, such as a faster battery charging system from Audi.
For battery power problems, there’s no need to worry anymore. Charging will be faster because the four-door coupé is equipped with 800 volts which substantially reduces charging time compared to conventional systems now in use. Thus, it only takes about 20 minutes to recharge a battery by 80 percent of its capacity for a range of 320 kilometers.
In addition, there are not many electric vehicles charging stations in the world that are also obstacles to owning this vehicle. Therefore, another advantage of the GT e-Tron is that it can be refilled at a charging point with a lower voltage, as we find in charging at home, providing the driver access to the entire charging network.
The E-Tron GT can also be charged using physical cables or by parking the car through an Audi Wireless Charging induction charger. This system uses a pad that is permanently installed with a charging coil connected to a power source. In simple terms, when the GT is parked on top, the magnetic field will charge the battery through the coil at the bottom of the car.
As one of Audi’s mainstays for its electric vehicle line, the Audi e-Tron GT operating system gets 590 horsepower, an impressive number for electrically powered cars. The electronic control system coördinates drives between axles and between the left and right wheels. This means increasing optimal traction and reducing the likelihood of a slip.
The top speed of this car is set at 240 kph to maximize range. Audi could have increased the speed of this car, the same as other sports cars. But of course, Audi has to sacrifice the range of cars that are more than 400 kilometers, determined according to the latest WLTP standards. Driving based on lithium-ion batteries with an energy content of more than 90 kWh.
The Four Ring Brand launches its first electric attack on the Audi e-Tron electric SUV in September 2018. Furthermore, Audi will offer 12 electrically driven cars in the most important markets around the world. As one of Audi’s electric lines, the Audi e-Tron GT will get the highest range of technologies and capabilities offered by the German manufacturer.
Not only for Audi, but the e-Tron GT also gets a few Porsche touches. Built will be incorporatedon the Porsche Taycan platform into the Porsche production line, the Audi e-Tron GT gets assimilation of the Porsche but still retains Audi’s design and character. It is still a concept car, but it seems that there is no big change given by Audi to the e-Tron GT until it enters the 2020 production.
