The first region that received the Ford Focus was the European region, then it was only developed into the Asia Pacific and the United States.

If you look at the European specifications, the fourth-generation Ford Focus is available in the hatchback and estate versions, while the Australian version is available in the sedan version.

For the Ford Focus review this time we will discuss the hatchback version of this car. Enjoy.

The Ford Focus hatchback version provides a sharper and sportier character approach to the ST-Line version and a more elegant version for Titanium. What will be discussed in detail in the Ford Focus review is the ST-Line version.

Ford is very concerned about the appearance of the front exterior of the Ford Focus which is now designed to be more aerodynamic but still has a sporty face. The use of the elongated front bonnet also supports the front fascia which now uses a massive sized trapezoidal grille equipped with Active Grille Shutter technology that can open/close air access to the radiator when not needed.

Slightly shifted to the bottom area on the left and right bumpers pinned Air Curtain inlet which serves to cut turbulence on the front wheels. Not to forget, in the headlight sector the Ford Focus 2018 already uses LEDs with a two-piece design separated by LED Daytime Running Light that feels fresh and attractive.

From the side, Ford Focus still pays attention to aerodynamic elements through the rearview mirror design which is optimized to reduce the drag effect. In addition, the curve of the character line on the Ford Focus also flows from the headlight line to the midpoint at the rear door, before then coming back to the rear taillight line. Do not forget to add a sporty character in this car pinned 18-inch alloy wheels with two-tone models.

In the rear exterior area of the Ford Focus is pinned on the roof spoiler which is useful in terms of aerodynamics, as well as the window panel strakes that lower the drag effect on the aero side of the car. On the other hand, the taillight LED is also present giving the impression this car has a body posture that is widened and sporty, especially with the twin tailpipe that is presented on the right side of the car’s bottom bumper.

Prioritizing the comfort of all passengers in the cabin, the Ford Focus offers a variety of premium materials and maximizes the spacious impression in the cabin with the touch of an open panoramic roof. Each trim on the Ford Focus has its own characteristics, where the ST-Line version will further highlight the sporty side of the hatchback type.

Ford Focus dashboard feels futuristic and modern, floating display in the middle area measuring 8 inches that can be operated through the touch of a hand. On the lower side for the majority of car control settings are placed close to the transmission lever, while climate control is positioned parallel to the central AC grille.

On the driver’s side besides being spoiled with a steering wheel that has a multifunction button, there is also a head-up display that was first used by Ford. Through this feature, the driver can get information about the car without the need for the driver to lose focus when driving

In addition to an advanced safety system, for Ford Focus users also do not need to bother to maneuver when parking. Now Ford has pinned on Active Park Assist 2 technology which is more advanced and capable of automatic parking in either parallel or serial parking conditions.

On the other hand, Ford did not escape maximizing the driving experience on this car with a smarter Drive Mode. This Drive Mode also synergizes with Continuously Controlled Damping in the suspension sector, which for 2 milliseconds will always read the movement of the suspension, steering wheel, body, braking level, which then influences the suspension response so that driving pleasure is maximized while comfort is guaranteed during the trip.

Ford SYNC 3 infotainment systems continue to be trusted as entertainment features in the Ford Focus. Besides being able to set the car configuration, navigation, to complete entertainment, Ford SYNC 3 can also be connected to your smartphone because it already supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On the other hand, Ford also spoiled the hearing senses of Ford Focus drivers and passengers because it adopted the Bang & Olufsen Play speaker system with a total of 10 speakers and a subwoofer with a total output of 675-watts. Oh yes, Ford also provides wireless charging that can be used to charge the battery if your smartphone supports Wireless Charging technology

Ford Focus Engine

Ford Focus has a 1.0-liter engine and 1.5 liter 3-cylinder EcoBoost that can produce 85 PS (83 hp) to 182 ps (180 hp). There are also 1.5 liters and 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine options that have a power range of 95 PS (93 hp) to 150 PS (148 hp). All power is channeled to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic.

The interesting side to the EcoBoost petrol engine used in the Ford Focus lies in its cylinder technology which can be inactive when driving in constant conditions. Claimed by Ford, the efficiency gained from each engine choice ranges from 10% better than the previous generation.
